Best Japanese Barbecue in Melbourne - Tori Matsu
I had dinner at Tori Matsu on King Street Melbourne CBD recently with my partner. We tried the All you can eat Japanese BBQ for dinner. When we arrived, we ordered our drinks and told the waitress that we would like the all you can eat option - and ordered our meat. Although the restaurant was really busy that day, the service was fast. The waitress came almost immediately with our portable bbq pit along with our ox tongue, pork belly, chicken, corn, sweet potato and salad. I absolutely love the food and it's really good value for money too. I think the bill came up to AUD$90 for the both of us (including our drinks). Definitely will go back again.

Virgin Blue - Gold Status Email Error
Read this news on the age titled Virgin Blue booboo sees gold turn to dust and I could relate to it because I received an email from Virgin Blue stating that I've turned Gold. In the email, they mentioned that they've got a treat for me which was to upgrade me to Velocity Gold! Apparently I came so close to making it on my own and they wanted to thank me so much for my ongoing commitment to Virgin Blue Group and they really love having me around. That was my first email from virgin blue at 6.09pm (Friday 13th November 2009).
At 8.48pm, they wrote me another email Saying:
Oops! Due to an error you've received our previous email by mistake. Please disregard the free upgrade communication as unfortunately you do not qualify for that upgrade.
Okay, so they decided to that they that I suddenly do not qualify for the upgrade!
What happens usually when you make flight bookings and after 3 hours, we decided that they do not qualify for our business. Would they ever allow me to refund my ticket? There is always cancellation cost involved and no tickets are refundable.
Well, maybe it's due Friday the 13th that this mistake happened. So, if I made my ticket bookings on the 13th august 2010 (the next Friday the 13th), will I be forgiven if I booked tickets online but changed my mind 3 hours later? Will Virgin Blue fully refund my ticket at no cost?

Obsessed (2009)

As usual, on a Friday night, it will either be Movie night for me or drinks with friends. This week was indeed a long and tiring week for me, so I decided to reject friends' invitation to go out but to stay at home and relax. My definition of relaxing during weekends - yes you guessed it. What else if not watch TV.
I was looking at Foxtel On Demand's selections and decided to order Obsessed. Obsessed is starred by good looking Idris Elba, Beyonce Knowles and Ali Larter. The story is about a successful man (Idris Elba) who is happy with his career and marriage (to Beyonce). But things started to change when a temp (temporary or temptress) worker (Ali Larter) started stalking him.

I'm not a movie reviewer / critic but what I think of the show is that it's too extreme. Maybe it has never happened to anyone I know but would there be anyone that would be so obssessed with someone? Ali Larter playing her character as a temp worker really went all the way to seduce Idris Elba in the movie. Man, who can resist Ali Larter! Another thing I would say is, if a hot young girl that would do anything to seduce you, would you reject her? (I dont believe any successful man would reject a gorgeous girl like Ali Larter - even if it would jeopardize his marriage). Why? Look at the current divorce rate and the amount of successful people with mistresses! Well, watch the show, even not for the story line, watch it because Beyonce and Ali looks really good in the show!

Women with big breasts are smarter?
I found this article online that was quite funny to me. Women with big breasts are smarter! From the news article it mentioned that a study was conducted in the United States showing that women with big breasts are smarter than smaller breasts/flat chested women. The study involved 1,200 women and they were divided into five groups, from extra small to extra big. The study found out that women with bigger breasts are smarter due to the higher level of female hormones that could result in better development in brain.
Okay, if this is true during a face to face interview. Imagine the interviewer is a male and what we do is decide whether the candidate is suitable for a position based on the breast size. If a woman notice that the man only stares at her breasts when interviewing her - what will she think? She will think the man is shallow and will probably think it's sexual harrassment! Well, we are just believing in the study are we not? So girls, if you catch someone staring at your breasts when talking to you, based on this article we are probably figuring out your IQ level! We are not being shallow! Let me know your thoughts!

Mystery Malaysian Big Spender
I read on the news online today about a mystery person who lives like a celebrity. He's name is Taek Jho Low. I'm not going to summarise the news since you can click on the news link to read about it. The question I have in mind is, how did this Ivy League guy be so rich? How did he accumulate so much wealth when no one in Malaysia - I for one keep track of rich and famous people in the world (including Malaysia) since I mentioned in my first post that I will be there someday!
What I find really interesting is the comments that people put on nypost. One person commented "To this day, I have never seen a fat Asian who is smart". I wonder what was the person trying to say? That all Asians are stupid or are all fat people stupid? My comment to him here is - if all Asians are stupid - look at China! China is so huge that the Western countries have to bow down to them. Look at how China's demand affect the supply of resources in the world. And another thing I would like to say is fat people doesnt mean they are stupid.
Well, I tried googling about him since he is so young (20 something Wharton grad) from Malaysia and spending like a huge star. All I could find is that he is a director for UBG Berhad - an investment house in Malaysia. That's all I could find about him.

Christmas Gift Ideas
I woke up this morning and realised that it's 6 weeks before christmas! Like many Malaysians working overseas, it's not often that we get the luxury to spend christmas with our friends and family back home. Well, it's okay for me because truly I hate Christmas! I know I know. Christmas is about celebrations and joy. We celebrate Christmas on the 25th December each year to commemorate the birth of Jesus and for Malaysians who are none christian, it's a public holiday - which is fantastic since they dont have to go to work!
Well, the reason that I always hated Christmas is because since I was little, I was always sick during Christmas. When I got older, I wont be sick during Christmas but I always have a bad day on that day - and last year's christmas - trust me it's the worst christmas for me. Well, following to what I wrote about The Secret - maybe it's true, it's the laws of attractions. I keep thinking I will have a bad Christmas and I will attract the negative energy. I will change my perception of Christmas this year. I shall stop being a Grinch and start looking forward to the surprises I have installed for my family although I do not have anything planned for myself but a quite day with Mantou!
Christmas is great to celebrate with the family but what do I do since I cant celebrate the occasion with them? Well, I do not have to look any further since the I researched so much to find a perfect gift for my grandmother and found Redribbon Days!
The list below is the things I would like to get for my family members who are living in Malaysia and I got about a month to come out with the sum!
Due to tight budget and time constraint I decided to be unfair and only get presents for people I am closest to and who deserves it!
First and foremost, my dad of course. He is the only one in my family who is supportive of me from young (financially and emotionally)! It was quite difficult to choose something nice for him because really, I think he is a man who has everything. But one thing I know for sure, he loves taking photos! I mean, not taking photos of other people, places, nature but taking photos of himself! So I am going to save RM600 to get him a Couple Potrait Photography so he can take photos with his partner.
Secondly, I have to budget for my grandmother. She has taken good care of me since young and of course I know deep down inside she loves my other cousins more but I truly thing she deserves something nice to do with my other cousins. I will need to have enough more for the French Affair on Christmas Eve for her. The experience is quite pricey but considering it will be done in Carcosa Mansion and she will indulge in a 5 course French meal, I thought, RM621 for 2 people is okay. So I will need to save RM1242 for her and my 3 other cousins (so they can bring her there). I'm not sure whether it applies to most people but I notice that my cousins would not mind taking my grandmother out for a nice dinner - just as long as they do not need to pay for it. So, thats why I need to fork up so much to make her happy and really, I think my grandmother would love the company of her favourite granddaughter more than anything. So, it's a good excuse to make my cousin bring my grandmother out.
As for the most important person in my life, my dear partner who will be flying back to Malaysia during Christmas. I have decided to get her the Menu of Small Tastes - Degustation . So when I get back to Malaysia in January, I can do the experience with her. The best thing about Redribbon Days, my partner will be guaranteed to receive her Christmas gift before Christmas but she can wait for me to do the experience together - to show that i didnt forget to give her something nice on such special occasion but able to delay the celebration to do it with me when we are together again. That is RM540 for 2 people with wine! So, comparing with the degustation meal that I have eaten in Lake Housem the price is cheaper in Malaysia. Let's hope it's good too. Will talk about it after my meal in January.
And for Mantou, I will get him some snacks since everyday is a holiday for him! He just loves lazing around and no matter how tired, when he sees food, he will jump up! I am so glad I have Mantou with me when my partner is away.
Well, Total up I need to have at least AUD792 for the most important people in my life - plus I get to eat the degustation meal in January. So, i think it's worth it. lucky AUD is strong!

Evil Angels (1988)
I watched a fantastic classic movie yesterday, Evil Angels on Movie Extra. As usual, I was browsing through the channels not sure of what to watch. Saw the title of the show but didnt interest me until I saw Meryl Streep. She was playing Lindy Chamberlain in the show. For many of you are not sure what this movie is about, do watch it! In short it's a real story about a mother whose baby was killed by Dingo but was accused of murder and was sentenced to jail! Watch it! It's fantastic. The reason I like this show is because I read about the news before. Only that the movie title Evil Angels didnt occur to me as the real story that happened in Australia!
